Wonderful Book Signing at Hair Perfections!

I really want to thank Dawn Rodgers, and her marvelous staff at Hair Perfections for the outstanding book signing event that these gracious ladies held for me on Saturday. To Mary Ann Harris: Your efforts will never be forgotten. Thank you for providing the delicious refreshments!

I was so excited! I met new friends who came just to meet me and purchase a signed copy of The Cast Net! I can’t thank you ladies enough!!

Fabulous time in Newberry!

Many thanks to Randy Berry, and his daughter, Kira, for hosting a book signing event for The Cast Net at Books on Main this past weekend. I sold every book! The barbecue at “Pork in the Park” was splendid, and I met many wonderful Newberry residents!

The day before my book signing, I attended the Mary Alice Monroe symposium in Newberry, and found her presentation on her novel, The Butterfly’s Daughter to be inspiring. She was gracious, signing a copy of her novel, and personalizing it to my daughter, Whitney and me. Mary Alice made my day when she wished me well with my first novel, and gave me a hug! What a couple of fabulous days in Newberry, South Carolina!

Savannah, Georgia Book Signings

Recently, I traveled to Savannah, Georgia for two books signing events for The Cast Net. I had great success at both signings: The first at the classy boutique, Go Fish, on Broughton Street, and later in the day at Savannah’s Ladies Night Out. Many thanks to Julie Breedlove, Kim Taylor and Debbie Ryysylainen . . . what a wonderful experience!

The following day, I explored Savannah’s riverfront, and walked along Bull Street to Forsyth Park. The grand homes in that area are breathtaking. I even saw the mansion that General William T. Sherman used as his headquarters during the Federal occupation of Savannah during the waning months of the American Civil War.

I was intrigued by the mysterious Bonaventure Cemetery. The river front setting and ornate grave markers added to the mystery of the property. I wandered through the graveyard and thought of the people who lay underneath those solemn grounds. The statue of Gracie, the little girl who passed away at age six, following a bout of pneumonia, was spellbinding!

What a wonderful adventure: Successful book signings combined with exploring the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia!
